OverLapF v1.0d

This program combines lines that partially overlap so that 2 line entities become 1 line entity.  You have the option to combine the overlapping lines or mark them with an ellipse.  Updated!  The ellipse covers the overlap only, not the ends of the two lines that create the overlap.

About:

OverLapF v1.0 Copyright 2003 John Leavines.  All rights reserved.

This application finds overlapping lines in Autocad drawings.

Note: Create a backup copy of drawings before running this application.

It changes the endpoints of the longer of the 2 lines so that it extends the entire length previously covered by 2 lines.

It deletes the unused line from the drawing. If 2 lines meet at one common endpoint it does not change them.

If user picks Same Color or Same Layer or Same Linetype on the form the application will not change the lines unless they are the same color, or layer or linetype.

The application works on 'LINE' entities only.

Lines are changed on the X & Y coordinate. This application is not meant to manipulate or preserve the Z coordinate on the lines it changes. It is intended for manipulation of 2 dimensional lines only. If a line has a Z coordinate that is not equal to 0 then it will not be changed.

Use the "Just draw ellipse" checkbox to draw an ellipse around the overlapping lines.  The program still filters per the other selections on the form.  The ellipse will cover the overlap only.  Not the ends of the lines creating the overlap.

The ellipses are put on a layer called OverLapF in color cyan.

The application creates a log file called OverLapF.log. It contains the entity list of all the lines that were changed or encircled. The file is created in the current directory.

An Undo mark is established by the application before changes are made. The user should be able to undo the changes the application has made with one UNDO BACK command.

The allowable variation points and angles data boxes are used as a fuzz factor in the equal command to compare points and angles on the lines. It is a real number defining the maximum amount by which expr1 and expr2 can differ and still be considered equal.

This application is for use in Autocad 2000 and up.

As you can see, this program can dramatically decrease your file size.
